The results of last Tuesday's election are in and issue 5A passed with an overwhelming majority. There were 362 eligible voters for the November 3rd election and 132 ballots were received. 106 votes were cast in favor of issue 5A and 26 votes against issue 5A.
Issue 5A supports Beaver Creek Metro District continuing to give money to the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts for capital projects. The passing of 5A signifies that the Vilar Center will continue to receive $250,ooo or .85 mills annually, whichever amount is less, to put toward capital projects until the year 2015. There will be no increase in taxes for this financial commitment. |
